EAA+ is the perfect blend delivering over 15g of Aminos per serving, 13g of which are Essential Amino Acids (EAA) including 10g of Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) at a 2:1:1 ratio (5000 mg L-Leucine, 2500 mg L-Isoleucine, 2500 mg L-Valine) with an additional 2.5g of L-Glutamine, 400mg of electrolytes and 25 mg of AstraGin.
Essential Amino Acids cannot be synthesised or created by the body and therefore must be supplied from your diet.
We have deliberately left out L-Tryptophan which is a precursor to 5htp, which can cause sleepiness (this is often only included in some EAA products very small doses) and replaced it with L-Glutamine which is a very effective intestinal and immune system health compound, as these cells use glutamine as the preferred fuel source rather than glucose.
We have also added 400mg of electrolytes (Sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium) as these are lost through sweat. When water goes out of the body, so do electrolytes. And when the body is losing lots of water (as during exercise), it makes sense that you need to replace electrolytes.
Finally, we have included AstraGin at 25mg per serving to help you absorb and make the most of EAA+. AstraGin increases the absorption of many amino acids in the gut so more are delivered to cells in the body. AstraGin has shown to increase intestinal leucine absorption by 58% in 15 minutes. AstraGin also has a positive effect on gut health due to its ability to reduce inflammation in the intestinal wall by up to 73%. Having a healthy gut is beneficial for good bacteria growth and metabolites that have important effects on immune functions.
